STABOR® Fishing Tips

wpe9.jpg (49668 bytes)Using STABOR® with the Carolina Rig & Texas Rig This is the first way to rig a STABOR® directly to your barrel swivel.  Strikes are common where the slip sinker and bead are located, which you have no other alternative but to set the hook.  If you leave two inches on your line, attach a hook using a STABOR® to it along with your favorite plastic lure as seen in the photo, you will at least get a sporting chance when the fish strikes at it.

THE STABOR
® RIG, FOR WORM FISHING. This is the second way providing you with a triple threat and a sporting chance, which insures a higher percentage catch because you are 1"inch closer to the strike zone, a wounded bait appearance and you have increased line holding power. Use it on all types of RIGS.

Below are the instructions from step 1 thru step 6 for using with the Texas and Carolina Rig setup.

Shown in figure's 1 of 6 is how you place the line lock inside hook eyelet via short shank half-loop.

Next, using a pair of pliers or needle nose, gripping the short shank and pulling up the long shank until they cross-over as in figure two.
(Some Folk's use there thumb nail to crossover short shank to the long shank, this is not a recommended procedure.)

Place the slip sinker on the line, using monofilament or new super-lines, make a 2" loop and bring it over into the short shank, pulling together-away and down  (clockwise ), start wrapping around the long shank only. Wrap to the end of long shank, pulling lure and lines in opposite directions
to snap into the end lock loop.

Cut the extra line (short-tail), down to the thickness of your thumb or forefinger for easy removal, ( see Line Locking Instructions ) and your ready for step three.  Feed the hook and STABOR® into the head of the worm 1"inch further than normal burying the STABOR® and hook into the head of the worm It should look like the figure below, except the loop-lock is buried.

Take a knife or scissors, cut at the junction (elbow) of hook and STABOR® eyelet, giving an appearance of wounded bait. This should increase your strike percentage. This will also offer better Protection of the worm head, increasing usage.

THE STABOR® RIG, IT'S AWESOME!!!

Below is the 1/2" STABOR® line lock version for ultra-lie action without the hard work. You have increased action without the hard work of jigging aggressively, free movement and better action as well as extra line holding power.

Use the 1/2" version or 1" version on Rooster-tails.

Use them on your favorite Flies to reduce time and increase strike opportunity.
